PROBLEM SOLVED. It looks like the WD40 did the trick. I did the aforementioned joint as well as some other areas and the top clicks no more. Thanks terahertz!

Very nice info, Clag. Thank you. One of these days I gotta pick up a tube of the shinitsu grease and just go over my entire car to make sure everything is well lubed. Thanks again.
