clicking/ticking from rear end, HALP!
hey yall, i have an 03 s2000 with 60k on it an im experiencing a clicking noise from my right rear wheel area. the noise is similar to a playing card in bike spokes. it starts out slow and increases as speed increases. i jacked the car up and spun the wheel by hand but cant seem to get it to make any noise. i did notice that my opposite drive wheel does not spin as i rotat the pass side and vice versa. is my dff cooked? i searched and found that it also could be splines needing to be greased or the axle nut needs to be re-torqued. thanks for any help

If you've had the single click when first moving and ignored it for a while, the wheel bearing may be toast.
But start with retorqueing the hub nut and greasing the axle splines since those are cheap. If the problem is still there it's likely the bearing.
Don't worry about the diff...what you saw is normal for a Torsen LSD.

Question about re-torquing the axle nuts. That part of the nut that is hammered down to prevent it from backing off (don't know what it's called), does it have to be hammered back out in order to re-torque? If it hasn't moved out of the groove in the axle I would assume that it's still in the torque spec and hasn't backed off, right?

when you re-torque it you know its correct because the original paint will not match up with the nut and the axle. the paint strip on the nut should go past the axle paint strip by a little bit (depends if you have that paint strip)
