If it is the TCT, you do NOT want to wait. If that chain slips, bye bye engine.
I realize that the little bugger is a bit pricey (I just changed mine last week) but it is still cheaper than a new engine.
I also noticed that my engine is dramatically quieter than before I replaced the part. I am thinking that these things just wear out so sloooooooly that you don't notice the issue until you make a big change (i.e. replace it).
Do yourself a favor; get a new one.

Or maybe that's their idea of an easy profit. Force us to keep replacing these $100 parts (that probably cost them about $5 to manufacture) and they'll make huge profits.

I don't mean to resurrect this ancient thread, but I'm having a similar problem
I put the key in, wait a sec, turn it over. The light hesitates a half second but during that time I hear a slight ticking sound (sounds like really loud valve train noise.) until the light goes off. It started after I changed my oil recently. I've ran mobil1 5w30 since I got it last august. (2006 with 48,000miles) I switched from a Fram filter back to a Honda one on my last oil chance, 2000 miles ago.
It only does it on random startups, I just pulled it in my buddys shop from a cold start and after 45 min I went to pull it out and it did it.
Is it just lack of oil in the head? Lack of oil pressure? Oil pump? TCT? Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Thank you

There have been many discussions about Mobil 1 being to thin and it burning off quickly in our cars. But thats not the issue I'm not going to open that can of worms. The fact is your using the wrong weight oil!
