Clicking sound under hood
Just wondering if anyone else has this problem when starting their car. It is like a ticking sound under the hood. I took it into Honda and they told me it was because I have titanium springs and retatiners. They said all honda s2000 come with these stock. I didnt think that was correct. LOL
Any ideas.

I know we dont, I thought it was comical that the dealer addressed it as so. It only happens on start up and it normally goes away. I figured other people on here have it? Just dont know what it is .

Do a search on "timing chain tensioner". Some of those threads have sound clips and other tips for diagnosing/troubleshooting that issue. It could be what you're looking for. Depending on loudness, frequency, it could be a myriad of other things, too... including normal injector noise, valve noise, etc.

Well it is not that. Maybe it is just normal valve noise. It is when I start up but it doesnt do that when I rev the car. Oh well. Thanks for the suggestion.

Don't worry, I feel the same way about my S2000. Any little noise I hear, I think something is wrong. I am finally coming to terms with the fact that this isn't the most quiet car ever, but I love it.

9000 rpm ftw. As per the clicking it is just clicking, rpms mean nothing with regards to the sound. It kinda of sounds like the timing chain click but it doesnt go with the rpms like that one. Sometime it lasts for like 30 seconds sometimes like 5 seconds. It almost sounds like a lack of oil in the head or something and when the oil gets in it stops but it is noisy. I have had several people ask me what the hell it is. What is the best way to get a sound clip, I dont have a videocamera.

like i said mine will click on startup a few times then when i rev it, it goes away...for different people the sound will be different. i've heard that for some its constant(needs to be replaced immediately) others it comes and goes at complete random...mine i hear it at startup only..and 90% of the time when its warm startup.
