Default click from rear of car?

tried searching this issue. Basically at any speed there is a very VERY faint clicking from what sounds like the rear of the car. Just started doing this the other day. It sounds like a rock in the tire and makes the noise even moving at 2mph....but its like the wheel has to make a complete revolution before it makes the noise. I read some people had cv boot issues, others said the axle lock nut. Anyone have this happen to them? Dunno if this forum is the right place but i trust the FI guys more than any other.

Probably the axle nut that needs to be replaced, regreased, and retorqued to the 220 ft/lb.

You can purchased them here:

Mine just started doing the same thing

Do you know if the sound gets louder when driving under load? (that's what mine is doing)

Yes, mostly at low speeds either forward or backwards. Its a click, click, click noise that you hear. Its an easy replacement and the axle nut itself is pretty cheap.

I have the same click click click sound - mainly when reversing up a small incline (my garage) - but I have heard it when going forward.

I replaced the spindle/axle nuts on Monday, and re-greased the axle splines - still have the sound

NoOOOO ... it happens when you forget to put it back.. , funny thing was i went out and got the nut and was going to replace it but this happened first. So i guess my insurance is going to pay for it. Hope the click sound stops now.

I found myself in a similar situation last year. I had a once per rotation clanking sound coming from my left rear at low speed. I jacked up the car to do the CV cup swap and just happened to bounce the wheel as I was setting it aside. The clanking was coming from inside the wheel/tire!?!?!?

Some jackass at Discount Tire thought my valve stems needed two nuts instead of one. This is the same Discount Tire that broke my front lip and denied any wrongdoing...

More of a funny story than anything, but check for stupid stuff before you go crazy replacing everything.
