Well,

I never thought it would be embarrasing to pull up anywhere in my S2000 =P - MY01 S2K has always made that small 'click' wheel bearing noise when taking off from first on the driver side rear tire..

Well, either something else has failed or that problem has just got worse. I'm hoping to have CoralDoc look at my car soon but would like to know what I might be looking @ cost-wise as soon as I can..

It almost sounds as if I had bad brakes but applying pressure to brakes does nothing to calm the sound - the sound speeds as the car goes and it stops around.... 30+mph? sound slows down as I come to a stop too, and gets LOUDER.. ugh! Scary thing is it comes and go, just now as I pulled up to work it stopped. Is it safe to drive the car under these conditions or definetely not?

I read a thread earlier of somebody replacing his hub/bearing with some nice instructions - Is it safe to say I'm having the same problem? I launch my car on VERY rare occasions and I doubt it would be my CV joints or anything of that nature but I guess you never know.

Just looking for some more opinions on the way I described the sound..

It certainly sounds like the noise mine made when the rear bearings went. If you read the thread below, there is a lot of discussion about diagnosis.

I read there that somebody had it fixed under their 100k extended mile warranty.

I have this warranty in my car, but when the noise first started happening they blamed it on the aftermarket springs, lol...

Is there a chance that it's so blatantly obvious now that they would fix it under warranty? Is it a wear/tear item or something they fix under driveshaft/engine?

I'm sure it would be covered under an extended warranty, if the car is stock. The bearings do take more of a beating if the car is lowered (more camber) on stiffer springs. I didn't even attempt to get my bearings replaced under warranty for this reason.
