Clear Diffuser Bulbs (Help with paint)
i know many of you have used amber bulbs and then painted them with a silver paint so the yellow doesnt reflect inside the headlight. what i'm wondering is if it would work with an amber bulb painted blue??? What sort of paint is recommended for this and what is the process of applying it? I want an amber bulb painted blue, but for the amber to still shine through.

I did my bulbs silver, used regular spray paint I found lying around the house. I think I did it kinda thick but it still shines threw, not as bright as before the paint but its good enough. I dont see why the blue wont work, give it a try on the wedge bulbs, there pretty cheap to replace. The only thing Im thinking is that the amber and blue mixed might look kind of green when on, maybe, Im not sure.

why is it that you are specifying it to be blue?
or is your main goal to cover up the amber color?
if you want an amber bulb that is less visible from the outside you could get something like this...

I bought the OEM amber bulbs. On the wedge bulb, taking advice from W1ngman, mask from 12-6 clockwise on one and counterclockwise on the other, leave the round edge exposed and mask the wedge connector.
Then I used high temp silver paint and let the bulbs have it. A solid film of silver.
When they dried, I had half the bulb amber when the tape was removed.
The amber parts go to the INSIDE of the headlamp, IE towards the projector light.
So you get bright amber when they are illuminated and near clear when they are not. You get just a touch of amber, so it looks like the lights on the Merc SL500 for example when the bulbs are off.
I think its a perfect solution. My car looks amazing now.
