I did exactly this using Woolite. Worked just fine and smelled nice too!

I use Woolite™ on my Sunbrella™ fabric boat cover, sail covers, and camper fabric. Sunbrella specifies this and it's a soap, not a detergent. 303 water repellant when dry. I use the big front loading washer at the laundramat.

303 after dry but not on the boat and I expect not on the car either.

Don't see any reason this won't work for a breathable fabric like the car cover.

I still have half a bottle of Fantastik. Maybe I should start a bidding war......or I could just wash my cover again. Hey does this mean a bunch of S2K owner's are going to show up at my house?

a2l90e, thanks for the reply. I was thinking the same thing - Woolite. I'm just woundering if the Woolite will be able to take off the really badly soiled spots(the inside part that covers the tires). I was hoping I'd get more replies from people that have actually been successful in cleaning their OEM car covers. American Honda was no help what so ever in what can be used instead of Fantastik.
Like I stated, wash it on the car if you can. This way you can pre treat & scrub the heavily soiled spots by hand. use the same wash you use to wash the car. and rinse the hell out of it. I wouldn't use woolite. so called fabric softeners tend to cling to the cover and end up on your paint, glass and can cloud your headlights. I've had 5 oem covers in 13yrs they're pretty durable. sun light deteriorates them. Good luck
Holy crap...I thought the OEM car cover would last a lot longer than a couple of years.

. I have two of them... got them with the car in 2000. Both are in great shape.

I've used Woolite on the hand wash setting.

Ive always put them in the wash. Delicate setting if not terribly soiled. They get a lot of dust buildup when in use so i would wash before winter storage.
