Chirping noise..?
So I've got an '03 s2k with 57k miles on it.. I've noticed that its developed a strange chirping noise that is only audible from the inside of the car. The noise starts up after the car sits at idle for roughly 5-10 seconds, will stop after you tap the gas, but once it falls to idle again and sits for a second it starts right back up.. A mechanic friend of mine said it sounded like a chirp on the cam, suggested that maybe the guy I bought it off of used too light of an oil weight and it wasn't staying on the cam long enough. I changed the oil, used the correct weight and it didn't resolve the problem.. Is it possible that there is an exhaust leak somewhere? I've checked the seals between my mufflers, mid-pipe, and cat.. But from the cat up to the headers hasn't been checked.. Any input would be nice.. I'm 99% sure its not a belt. The noise is just super annoying. Thanks in advance.

This probably isn't it but it's worth a try. I had a super annoying chirping noise that I couldn't figure out for a couple weeks and it drove me crazy. I thought it was the rubber molding around the top, but it ended up being the mount for the driver's outside mirror. The nut fell off the mount inside the door frame and the rubber seal around the base for the mirror was making the noise. Probably wouldn't do it at idle, but it sure made noise moving. Good luck.
