Doesn't seem like there is any way to check the tranny fluid level easily right? I think I may be a little low because my shifting as been getting really notchy.
I changed my tranny fluid about 6 months/3,000 miles ago. Changed it myself with a friend but this time I want to go to a shop. Do I even bother having them check the level or just go in and say change the fluid and pay the 1/2 hour labor fee of about $50 (I bought 2 quarts and the washers already).

There is no tranny dipstick, if that is what you are asking. To check, jack it up, remove fill plug, stick finger in and see if you can feel MTF just below fill plug opening.
Very unlikely that you are low on MTF. Not at all unusual for transmission to get "notchy". Use Honda MTF, or something you KNOW is better from experience.

I agree, you usually dont lose fluid. What did MTF did you put in it.
Here is a picture of the bottle of Honda MTF. It is at the top of the page. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...&#entry10100671

Yes, I used Honda MTF. Since the car was on jack stands only one side when we did it, we used the whole 2 quarts then lowered the car...let the excess oil drain out then jacked it back up for a minute to plug it up. Does that sound right or is it possible too much oil was drained out?

changing the tranny oil is probably one of the easiest things to do on the car, so unless someone tells me its overkill to change it often, ill probably do it every 2 or 3 oil changes or maybe just once a season since the honda MTF is only like $3-4 a quart

Only been about 3-4k miles but I am going to change it again. Shifting is just too notchy after being very smooth for several months after the last change.
