Default Checking out a 2001 S2000

Hey, I've been a member on this forum for quite some time (as you can see by my join date) but have never been an active member. I joined when I thought I was going to purchase an S2000 but as you can see from my lack of knowledge, I went down a different path. Well, I found an S2000 that I want to check out and was wondering if you guys could give me the details on what to look for.

Do a compression check, drive it, bring it to a mechanic. Otherwise, once you get it, have all the fluids changed and do a quick tune up on it and you should be good. Get a carfax. Otherwise this link should help with your first S2000

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll probably get it leakdown tested if I decide to purchase it. I'm still sitting on the fence about it =/.

Buy the thing, it's the most amazing car you are likely to ever own. I've never regretted mine!

Check mileage LOL.
I have a '01 and my engine gave up at 124K (Knock sensor failed, melted my piston). Other than that definately a carfax and have a mechanic come with you to check it out. Let me know if you need help with this. If your close by I'd be glad to.
