Default Check Your Mounts!

So I am currently in the process of changing out my clutch and I removed the motor mounts to get access to rear transmission bolts. When I removed them, both fell apart. Dried. Hard. So tomorrow I get new mounts, throw-out bearing and I'll finish the job. 96,374 miles.

PS.. the motor mounts are SO expensive. Average cost was $ 129.00/ea where as on my BMW its $ 40.00/ea. No complaints since these lasted 96,000 miles vs 40-60K miles on the BM.

Why are you pulling mounts out to change your clutch?

To lower the motor to access the top bolts. Glad I did, both mounts were snapped so it was good I did. Also mounts dry up over time. I mean mine is 10-years old. Plus weather conditions help wear them out like dry conditions here in AZ. Can't imagine humid weather would only help keep them fresh

It's largely use, but age is a factory with everything.

They're filled with fluid if I remember correctly so there is normally a sign it's gone or going.

I think cheap mounts can be had from honda parts folks online.
