Check oil????
Please tell me why everyone says to check the oil for the first couple thousand miles after you get your s2k. I got mine a couple of weeks ago, it has 900 miles on it now, and I haven't checked the oil once. What am I doing this for?????

Because you don't want to have to have your ruined engine towed to the dealership and pay for a new one.
Many engines use oil during break-in. If you check the archives, some owners have found that their car used a quart in a few hundred miles. In my case, my car used a half quart during one tank of gas, but has barely used any since. Once the car is broken-in, you can check the oil less often since the car uses less oil.
You should take 30 seconds and check your oil every time that you fill your gas tank. Do you know how? If you can open your hood, you can easily check your own oil.

I agree that some cars use oil, though mine has not in my first 2000 miles. It's a VERY good idea, though, Honda VTEC engines tend to burn or ingest oil. Being lower than a quart low can cause serious engine damage. If you want to keep your car a long time and want it to last, it's a good habit to be in.
I also recommend checking tire pressure. Not only does it save gas (yadda yadda) it contributes a LOT to the car's handling (not to mention tire life).
