My 06 gave me the same message three weeks ago. I shut off the engine, removed and reseated the cap. The cap was not obviously loose. The message disappeared.

I had the same problem today on my 06. I just finished modding the momentary switch to unlock passenger door yesterday. I didn't see the check fuel cap warning when I first turned on my S after mod. Or at least didn't notice it then. Worried if I accidently tugged on a wire to come loose. Will check out wires soon.
Fuel cap seemed tight to me. I usually give it a couple of clicks. So far dumbfounded!?

After you checked the wiring, wait several driving cycles (start - drive for a while - stop and shut off the engine) and see if the code clears.

had this on mine a few months ago. i was at 1500 miles, it came on, and didnt go away after about 4 days, and lots of driving cycles. took it to honda, and they scanned it and cleared it. havent had it since, now at 4800 miles. i turn the cap about 20 clicks now

HAHA! False alarm! Check fuel cap code went away after a couple of days. Guess I didn't give it enough clicks or pressure after all!
