Leave it alone. If the cap was loose the check fuel cap warning will go away after a few driving cycles.

If there is an actual problem the check engine light light will come on later.

i havent had this issue but cant you just disconnect the battery and let it sit for like 10-15 minutes and let the computer clear itself?

The 06-07's use different EVAP DTC's.

P0455 Large leak detected
P0456 Very small leak detected
P0457 Fuel cap loose or missing

The Check fuel cap warning will come on for any of these pending.

yeah, the 06/07's are the only ones with the 'check fuel cap' warning. i had this a while back, wouldnt go away after about 4 days and plenty of driving. the dealer scanned it and reset it. now i make sure i make the cap click about 10,000,000,001 times.

The check fuel cap light came on with my 2006 S2000 a week or so ago. Always do at least three clicks when replacing the cap. Tried taking it off, back on again. Searched the forum, some suggest pushing down on the cap... after a day or so and short highway drive the light went off. Been ok since with a refill or two in between. It had me worried at first except my son's 2007 civic gave the same warning on the same day. Maybe a weather thing ;-)
