Check engine light on after a car wash
So I got my car washed at a hand wash place I've been going to for a few months since owning the S and when I got back in my car to drive away, my check engine light was on. I've owned Hondas for 10 years now and this is the first time I have ever had a check engine light on, so of course I freaked out. I popped the hood and there was soapy water under it and I'm assuming that's the cause. Now I've been to this car wash with the car before and never had this problem was wondering how water gets in there or if that's normal and this is just a freak incident.
Got a couple of pics to show where the water was and I also dried it as much as I could when I saw it. By the time I got home, nearly all of it was dry, but the light was still on. Also, she's an 06 with only 17k on her.
P.S. Please don't flame me for taking my car to a car wash. It's a hand wash place and they do great work. The car gets probably 3 little drops of water in it from the air blowing at the end, but other than that hand washing it in NY during the water isn't a realistic option and there are no coin op places around. Thanks.

I believe that you can get someone at an auto parts store to scan the code for you as well. (Never done it myself.) Since they tend to have longer hours it might be more convenient.

I'd suggest buying one of these if you already own a iphone/android phone. You can pull codes yourself as well as do some cool stuff with you car.

^^^s2000ellier,
Is this product work well? Does is show you live air/fuel ratios on your phone? I have an Iphone and have been looking around for something like this to clear codes. Also see how the motor is running. Thanks

Get the code scanned at your auto store. They usually do it for free. Report back with said codes and we can help diagnose further. I don't think some water around the edge or the engine bay is an issue. Unless you somehow got alot of water in your intake, there must be something else going on.

I have gotten a code one single time from a wash. Water found its way into the vent holes on the o2 sensor and it gave a high voltage code. All I had to do was clear it because the heat of the exhaust boiled it out.
