Check Engine light
Less than 2 months ago my 2003 S2K had a problem with multiple misfires on cylinder 1. I had to fight with the waranty folks at Honda to pay for what the dealer diagnosted as a bent exhaust valve on cylinder one. I purchased my car used earlier this year from a Honda dealer with the 100,000 Honda certified garauntee. The dealer said the only way the valve can get bent is to over-rev the engine, but I never did any thing like that (period).
I was cleaning my car 2 days ago, I started it up and the check engine light is on again. I immediately took the car to the same dealer that did the repair work 2 months ago. Yesterday, the service manager called me and said the freeze frame data shows the misfire happening at idle. He asked me why I cleared the codes, which I replied I did not, no way. He also said the compression is low in #1 cylinder just like the last repair visit.
2 weeks ago I had my left shoulder operated on to fix problems, I have not had the car on the freeway since the operation. I do not race the car, it's my wifes car, and I have a 500 plus HP Camaro, if I need to race some thing which I almost never drive.
A lot of parts were replaced and the head machined, so what could be the problem if this keeps occurring? Can a valve get bent with out over reving the engine? It seems rather strange that the same valve got bent again.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Whip....
