ooh i see.. that makes alot of sense... but yes i pamper my car when i drive it which is why i still have the original clutch at 43,000 miles... (nobody believes that i drive it easy since im only 21)...

anyways, i found the TSB, and i printed it... i'll bring it to the dealership tomorrow... now the TSB states that the clutch disk will be replaced... this is a really stupid question, but with just a new clutch disc, will it prevent slipping alone without a new pressure plate? thanks alot

I have a 2001 and the dealership replaced my clutch disc with the upgraded one since my car met the criteria for a TSB repair. It rattled and buzzed on deceleration @ 3-2 K rpm. I had 24K miles at that time.Good luck!!!

My local Honda dealer replaced the clutch and rebuilt the transmission on my '00 at 35k miles. Good luck with your repair.

ok, i went to the DIamond Bar honda dealership, and the guy told me that the TSB doesnt mean anything.. he was saying that its not a recall or anything, so i would need to pay for the entire amount of the clutch replacement myself ($1350)... he also said that my 100,000 mile warranty wouldnt cover it, and he said there is a different warranty that comes with the car that would have covered the replacement.. ... i have a feeling he was BS-ing me so i snatched my keys out of his hands and took off... I'm thinking about going back the dealership where i bought my S2K from-- Long Beach Honda... what do you guys think? why would the guy at the dealership tell me i'm out of luck?

I suppose it won't hurt to try the original dealer you bought from but I see the following as points against your case:
1. With 44,000 miles on the car, you are probably fairly lucky the clutch lasted that long and chances of claiming the "clutch buzz" TSB is slim but still worth a try. If you have the buzz, you should have a legit claim and yes, they are B.S.ing you.
2. Your youthful age may be a stereotype they are using to deny helping you out.

thanks viper... i'll give it another shot at the dealership that i bought the car from... and Razor i would go with an aftermarket clutch, but if the dealership would pay for a new OEM one, than i might as well go for it...

BTW, this sounds like a "we'll help you if we feel like it" issue... would it make a difference if i asked to speak to the manager at the dealership? i dont see why others can have their clutch replaced, but not mine...

also, are there concrete rules about who qualifies and who doesnt? or is it just up to the opinions of the guys at the dealership? if anybody knows a dealership willing to do a TSB clutch replacement like this, can you pleaaase let me know which one?
