Follow xviper's instructions. Not much to know really. I found it easier with a friend to hold the bottles upright to make the fluids flow. I did my swap with the car on the ground and had no problems. This was the first maint. I'd done myself and had no problems at all.

Having an '00, have you changed your engine coolant? If not, it's overdue. Also, silicone spray your CV boots and steering rod boots. On a long trip like that, the CV boots will flex a lot and if they are old and dry, they may crack. Double check your tire pressures.

I'd also recommend changing the clutch master cylinder fluid while you are at it

"best" might be a subjective word here, but I highly recommend Honda MTF.

For the diff use Mobile 1 75w- (cant remember) synthetic.

If you look for xviper's How-Too's you will find out some of the fluids to use

If the transmission fluid has never been changed, new fluid alone will imporve shifting smoothness for a while. Like Jeff, I use Honda MTF and Mobil 1 75W/90. You might want to order in new washers for the fill and drain bolts.
