I did my S2000 today with GM Synchcromesh FM, mostly on Gernby's recommendation (now the pressure's on, Gernby ).

I'm about to change my clutch so I will change my tranny oil again. THis time i'll drain it while its hot.
Now instead of filling it via the fill hole. Can I get the exact amount I need of oil in a bucket and just full it where my shifter goes it? So i'll know I have exactly what honda specifies.

Well i don't see I can do any harm if I fill it form there cause itjust goes down.
HOnda specifies in the manual that 1.48L should be filled at fluid change.
So if I meassure that and fill it, don't think i will have a shortage.

buzilanga, I truly hope you are joking about filling the tranny fluid from the shifter stick. You are going to dismantle the console, remove all the shifting hardware and then pour fluid down whatever hole you find? This is the goofiest way that I've heard anyone come up with. First, it's a lot of work. 2nd, we don't even know if there is a sufficient passageway for the fluid to follow to the tranny. 3rd, I don't even think that tranny fluid is supposed to go up there.
Lastly, Honda indicates how much fluid the tranny needs to fill it. Each individual case will be different depending upon how well the tranny drained. The "proper" prescribed way to fill the tranny (as stated by Honda) is to fill it till it comes out the fill hole with the car on level ground.

I asked this question because, I once filled a few mustangs that way. 2nd i just wanted to know if its the same way, 3rd because i'm changing my clutch i have to deasemble everything, so i thought, why not try that way, but I came here first to ask advice. Now i'm sure I have to put my car leveled and fill it when i'm finish putting the clutch back in.
Thx for the tip xviper.
