Changing oil BEFORE winter storage?
Yes yes i have searched witch is why i ask this question, im about due for an oil change however i was gonna wait until the car was done being stored (probably 3 monthish) however on many fo the threads and the main FAQ one it says to change out the oil and filter before storing.
I was wondering the reason for this as well as when this should be done, right before you store it? a week before ok?
As we are ont he topic, what do you guys suggest doing for your battery?

I change it before to get rid of the acids that are by products of the combustion process. I don't change it in the spring.

Change the oil, tranny, and differential fluid right before I put it away (put away with 0 miles on the fluids). And I remove the battery and put it on a battery tender in the basement.

I make sure my S goes into storage with relatively clean oil this year it was about 1000 miles after my last oil change. I always change it right away in the spring. I've never disconnected the battery and I still have the original but you may want to disconnect yours if you don't start your car up during storage.
