Changing motor oil for the first time...
I got my new 06 on June 15th so its been 2.5 months now. I have about 2k miles on it and my readout shows 50% oil life left.
Is it time to get my first oil change? I have read here that it is not a good idea to get synthetic oil?
Which type of oil to you experts recommend? I live in Los Angeles so the weather here is pretty warm..
Thanks!

IMO most experts would recommend not changing it at all.
Top it up with a quality dino oil 10W-30.
(keeping the level where it should be is very important!)
Change at 3500 or 7500 miles.
Depending on "severe" or "normal" service schedule.
If you change at 3500 miles use a quality dino oil 10W-30 again.
Do not use synthetic oil for the first 7500 miles.
This (and a LOT more) info is all in your owners manual.
And in the Oil Journals on top of UTH

Just keep checking the level and keep it topped up. Read your owner's manual.

Unless someone pissed in your first beer, are you going to throw it out and start on the second one?
