this statement is not true, a 5w30 synthetic vs a 5w30 dino can have the same viscosity.
apparent viscosity when cold...ever hear of pour point and cold crank apparent viscosity? compare the pour points of synthetics to dino oils...there is no comparison

A good conventional isn't that bad. For my R6 though, I only put in synthetic I want that extra wear protection when I rev to 16.5k.

I use Castrol Syntec and it doesn't burn a single drop between oil changes.
what mileage did you switch over to synthetic at?

my MY00 has just under 60k miles and I have owned it for a year (12k miles) I have been putting conventional oil in to minimize burning or using engine oil.
will i benefit from synthetic, I will change oil at or around 3k miles regardless.
Been using honda filter and Valvoline 10w30 conventional.

Met a guy last fall who bought his MY00 new and has used dino from new. Daily driver. He reported he has never had a problem with the engine and no discernible oil consumption between changes.

I just put in some Valvoline Synpower 10w-30 (got a great deal on it)...after my engine is broken in, I'm going to do a oil "smackdown": Valvoline Synpower vs. Mobil 1 EP vs. Amsoil (5k drain for each)
