They may have said that to protect their butts. If they put in VTM-4 fluid that they use for Pilots, CRV's and the like, they may owe you a new diff at great expense to them:

if it is the bad stuff i have only had it in for about 100 miles i do hear a light whining noise when i turn the wheel from a stop but theres no clunking noises yet so hopefully with the le607 the noise will go away an there wont be ne damage
