thanks again to xviper for the tutorial. My fluid is only 2.5K miles old - but was already gray, sludgey and my plug was covered in shavings. I added one step to your process though - I temporarily put the drain plug back on and pumped a little left over 75w90 fluid from another change into the diff and let it sit for a little bit and then drained it out before continuing on. Same sort of premise as pouring some oil through the filler tube while the drain plug is out when changing your oil - gives me that little bit of extra security that I got every bit of the old fluid out...
took the car for a nice drive by the beach today and overall it just feels great with the new tranny and diff fluids in...partly psychological - but mostly the MT-90 making things smooth. I love rev-matching in this car...
oh yeah - I did this all without jacking the car up because I'm lazy...

what kind of difference, if any, did you rally feel after swapping the two fluids?

pretty much what I said in my first post - overall just smoother...mostly psych. probably - but I feel a lot better really winding it out on back roads and keeping the revs high to stay in the power band...

Check back in a couple weeks, and I'll let you all know if I can tell any difference. I just bought a few quarts of Redline 75w90 today.

It takes less than 1 quart to change the diff fluid.
