Use the latest Honda MTL from the dealer...it is the best I've used.

Don't buy the diff oil from the dealer...they will likely give you diff oil for the CR-V, which will kill an s2k diff.
So the rear diff oil listed in the Honda S2000 factory mannual is bad for our cars. Arent they suppose to use it as listed on the mannual? Is the oil listed in the mannual bad. Just wondering why would they use it if its gonna hurt the diff.

i have no information on this being a newb myself...i have seen a few threads on here saying that the fluid the dealer uses isnt good etc. i just got my04 and let the dealer service her with their fluid...the way i see it is if the dealer is going to use something that will hurt my car, i will go back there and go completely ape shit. the next time im hoping to have met some friends on here that will help me learn to do things myself and see what they use and maybe change, but for 15k miles or so im not worried about using dealer fluids until i can find out more about what is better or worse

and as far as your temp being at 48%, it should be 8 bars i believe on 2004s and up

crv vtm gear oil isn't what is recommended in the manual. Most dealers don't carry s2000 gear oil, so when you ask for diff fluid they will give you the one they have on hand, which is wrong.

I called the dealer ask them if they had any rear diff fluid available to buy . He told he has some but in a 90 weight but its in bulk and cant sell it in individual amounts and he suggest i go to an auto store to get a 90 weight rear diff fluid.
