CEL went away?
As the title states i got a CEL a couple days ago. It was a solid light, NOT a blinking one. I had a CEL twice before for a gascap supposedly not being tightened correctly (need a new one). Anyways, tonite the CEL actually went off while i was driving. Is this possibly normal or should i take it to the dealer anyways? Other than the CEL i havent noticed anything funny at all. Thanks in advance.

It could have very well been the gas cap. 2002 have a problem with the filler neck and the gas cap not seating correctly (it ratchets too early due to tension)
Tighten the cap by holding onto the outside of the cap next time and you'll never have a problem again.
As for the CEL, it went away because the problem went away, simple as that. If you did not pull the code while it was active you'll never know.

As daktruckie99 said. The ecu run tests everytime you start and drive your car. Depends on the check engine light code, after however many tests and it doesn't detect the same malfunction, it will turn off the light. You can still view what code it is with a scantool because it will keep it in the history.
