Default CEL popped up in vtec

Hey guys, I will be going to autozone tomorrow to get the code pulled, but I was lining up with a friend and as soon as I hit vtec the CEL popped up and the car kind of cut off. Like it fell back out of vtec, theres no noises but its been idling a little lower than normal. I checked all the hoses and wires and they all seem good. Mods are in my sig, anyone have an idea what it could be? Just for some peace of mind till tomorrow. Car drives fine

I wasnt driving hard when I entered vtec, I was just slowly creeping up to about 6k at about 40mph when it came on...

Friend came over with his scanner, and pulled a P1259, his scanner said manufactured control air/fuel metering. And I checked on here and it said vtec malfunction, I set the vafc2 settings to 0, reset the code and drove around and the car feels fine. What exactly is a vtec system malfunction or the air/fuel metering? Is there a fault with the vafc2 wiring? Ive had it on for a month now with no problems.

The error was the VTEC system not the air metering. If you set your vafc with too agressive of a vtec engagement it will throw a cel. The computer measures the time between engagement and when the oil pressure spikes. if they get out of sync too far, the computer throws a cel and cuts your fuel at 6k.

my vtec engagement is still stock at 5800, it runs fine now and enters vtec. It just happened as I was slowly entering vtec, not sure if its still doing it I'm scared to do it again. Oil levels are fine and everything.

Have you checked your oil?

Yeah I said I checked the oil in the last sentence of my last post. Could it be just a momentary loss of oil pressure? Just a fluke?

well I tried to replicate the same exact thing that happened that night and the car ran fine, crept up to vtec and no CEL or anything, is this normal or was it just a fluke?
