Finally got my car back today. I'll post the service records a little later so you all can see what was done. Thankfully it was covered under the warranty so I only had to pay the $100 deductible or whatever. But boy is it nice to have my car back and not be driving the civic lx anymore, and it was even better that the weather was nice enough to drop the top on the way home

here is an image of the service record. I noticed it said they did an oil change which im not too happy about considering I had one done about 1-2 weeks before bringing it to them, but I guess they figured they were doing me a favor so I cant really blame them. Lets just hope they didn't put another garbage oil filter on like the one that was on there when I bought the car.

Anyways, glad to finally have my car back.

To remove the head you kind of have to drain the oil and coolant. You should have specified you wanted your used oil to go back in your car. I wouldn't want that, but that's me I'm weird like that.

Im curious how much this job would have cost me if I didn't have the warranty. Also, their communication in the service department was horrendous. Throughout the entire process, nobody called me and I had to keep calling them every 2-3 days to check on my car to see what was going on. Every time I called, they still hadn't figured out what was wrong and someone new was looking into it. And then I called about 3 days before I got it back, and they say, yeah it was this and this and it is being worked on now. I couldn't believe that A) nobody had called me to tell me what was wrong and B) to ask for my permission to do the work. When I brought it up to them they said that because it was covered under warranty they just did the repair since it wasn't going to be any extra money coming out of my pocket. Granted, its not like I would have said not to do the repair, but that doesn't mean I don't want to be kept in the loop and have a say in what is going on with my car. poor business practices

I see they charged 10 hours of labour - at my dealership that would be $1020 in just labour + whatever parts are needed.

Your dealership only charges $102/hr? Not bad, as far as dealerships go, the one I get my parts from charges $140/hr

We're a small Honda dealership more towards the countryside with only 6 bays - 2 apprentices and 3 licensed techs including myself.

$140 is ridiculous - the dealership downtown Toronto charges $125.
