CEL and No Air Pump Sound On Start Up
Good morning everyone, I started up my S2000 this morning and noticed there was no air pump sound for the low emissions system. I started to drive it and the CEL light came on. The car idled fine and it seemed to have more power than normal. I remembered yesterday a little smell of smoke for a split second while downshifting. It was almost like a fuse had blown it was that quick. There was no CEL on though until this morning after starting her up. I drove her right to the dealer. This is the first time taking her to the dealer for any problems. I just put 22k miles on her. Anyone know what it maybe?
Thanks,
Richard

Yo...This happened to me. Most likely the underhood fuse for the secondary air pump is blown...the fuse is a 60a located under the hood on the drivers side. Shows location of the underhood fuse box in the manual. My Fuse was blown and my pump was shot...argghhhh. Just rip that f-er out and throw it in the trash. Throw away your obd2 fuse while your at it...I did

Thank you for the replies everyone, the car is fine. They cleared a P0301 and P0302 or P0303 code out of the computer. The said they froze (saved) the data just in case I have the same problem again. They think it may have been a fuel system issue. I didn't tell them about the split second of smoke I smelt when I downshifted the day before while having some fun on the road. I thought maybe it was the oil dipstick popping up and from engine pressure. I drove it about 80 miles tonight at different rpms and restarted it a couple of times to make sure there were no more CEL.
Thanks,
Richard

P0301,302, 303 are all misfire DTC's.(diagnostic trouble code) The PCM automatically saves freeze data whenever a DTC occurs. So, If your misfire was at 9000rpm they already know about it. The freeze data recorded is all engine data related to the DTC. Throttle position, vehicle speed, coolant temp, calculated load value, oxygen sensors, fuel trim and about 20 other parameters are all things that are in the freeze data. They wrote down all the data because if it does recode, they need to compare the failure records to diagnose and duplicate the problem.
