ok, I fired up the car this morning, and the Cel is gone...... but i didnt mess with anything this time. does this mean the Code is pending and will still be able to pulled with a scanner?

as long as it was on once and you didnt clear it the code should be stored in the computer and you should be able to get the code

You type in "p1361" into that little box in the upper right hand corner of the screen labelled "SEARCH."

And initiates a SEARCH which can give you such helpful threads as this one:

Looks like maybe one of those wires came loose or corroded from your Vortech install.

P1361 is for Cam position sensor A intermittent interuption

is exactly what the code is, so there are 2 cam sensors on the back of the Valve cover, one is A and the other is B, I have a feeling this is going to be very tricky narrowing it down if its the actual sensor or the wiring.....

You need to recheck all of your wiring splices to the vortech timing controller.

i had the same exact symptoms as from this thread.
the symptons arose half a year after i changed my retainers.
i attempted to change out the pin but instead broke it flush with the cam.
i ended up buying a used set of cams. put them in and the problem is gone.
