Default Cel help.

I don't have access to a reader. But I get 9 long flashes with the jumper. I guess it could be 9 flashes with a 0 pause since I can't find anything for just nine flashes. It just repeats the 9 over and over.
Any thoughts.
Thanks.

Forget the flash codes, get a real DTC #.

If it is (90), then it could be either P1456 or P1457. I can't remember if P1456 is the "gascap" CEL.

Neither the local AutoZone or O'Reilly's have the scanner.
I guess the locals steal them.
I suspect the gas cap. The car only has 17k.
Damn, cars with pistons are complicated.
Thanks anyway.

??? As opposed to what? Rotary? Rotary engines have ODBII as well, so there's no difference?

I'm pretty sure any car in the US sold after 1996 has OBDII.

" OBD-II is an expanded set of standards and practices developed by SAE and adopted by the EPA and CARB (California Air Resources Board) for implementation by January 1, 1996."

"All cars and light trucks built and sold in the United States after January 1, 1996 were required to be OBD II equipped. In general, this means all 1996 model year cars and light trucks are compliant, even if built in late 1995."

I don't see how an RX-7 would be exempt?

Simple, no RX7s after 1995. Not being able to make the OBDII standard is one reason the RX7 was discountinued in the US. That along with the price (my window sticker states $37,875! back in 1994!), emission standards, and the tendency to grenade. Japan and Australia got the car til 2000 with a much improved sequential system. Sorry for going off topic.
