Default CEL on hard accel?

I was out with one of my friends and he decide to be a dick with his 300zx so i took off after him and when i hit vtec and ride it the cel flashes on and off. Once i slow down the light goes off and stays off.... any ideas?

That's odd. It stays off? I'd wait until the cel stays solid on then get the code checked.

if you get the car scanned the code will most likely be in the memory. did it flash or just stay on steady?

Ok... so updated with more info... it flashes, which i was told was a misfire, but its only in vtec, usualy around 6.5k plus. So i just changed my spark plugs a couple weeks ago. I have no idea what it could be... possibly the tune (lack of.) or my valves.... which are clicky sort of i believe?

Code will be under pending codes on the scanner, so yes you can read them. but dont bother Flashing CEL is always a misfire.

You have a P0300, a P1399, and one or more of P0301-P0304.

If your misfire is under load, it's usually spark. What kind of plugs? Proper torque? Gap?

Man just drive up here I can guarantee no need to visit UTH forum for 75,000 miles

after you have helped me SOOOO much on nearly everything, and being patient with the fact my TCT core is still in route (should be there by tues according to post office). oh and walkin me thru the misfire i had earlier on the phone lol... once my 99 gsr is back up and built for my daily driver i am considering taking a trip up to new york to pay you a little visit and get my car properly fixed before i start building up. As for the spark, i JUST took them BACK out, a tinyyyyy bit of black(ish) liquid on the threads, the gaps are correct, and i put them back in exactly to the way you told me... im just to the point where idk wtf is wrong with it... previous owner lived in Conway and tracked it a couple times, who knows whats up...

Gap: .044
Type: NGK Iridium Vtec friendly plugs

when i first put them in everything was fine, it went straight through gears like butter, etc, no engine issues at all, i was so happy... but then wtf, 2 days ago im back to the same crap, but its not throwing a misfire code, and its ONLY in vtec...
