Road Rage: We don't have a MAF sensor. We have a Mean Absolute Pressure(MAP) sensor. I don't mean to be a stickler, but I was slammed when I used the MAF vernacular as you did. You and I both realize that these sensors are nearly identical. They both measure the same thing.

I seem to be experiencing the EXACT same problem. Took the car into the dealer, they pulled the codes, and told me it was a faulty IACV, same as you. To replace the IACV, they ended up having to replace the entire throttle body assembly (luckily under warranty). After that, my CEL went away, and my car was problem free for the rest of the day which included a 400 mile drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The next day, however, CEL is back and so is the oscillating idle. So right now I'm debating whether I should take my car back to the same dealer (Norm Reeves Honda in West Covina, CA) or just find someone else to look at it. BTW, my car is bone stock with approx 64K miles. I'll keep you posted if I have any luck dealing with this. Hope your CEL doesn't come back after they're done fixing it.

I just listed based on experience with other cars - did not cross-ref against the S2000. I figured if it did not apply it was an automatic go to the next one, but as usual I was wrong.

Note to self: no MAF sensor.

Note to you: Never heard of a mean absolute pressure sensor - I have heard of a manifold absolute pressure sensor.

mcomer, I have searched for the way to pull a CEL on your own and havent found anything, did you have to use a scanner or how did you do it? Do you have the link to modifry's write-up or whatever?

UPDATE:

After putting the car in the shop and having them read the code, order parts, yada yada yada... The problem seems initially to have been fixed by replacing the IAC Valve. So, the computer seems to have been right about the problem. I'll post an update if the CEL and idle problems come back, as others have indicated that this problem was not always necessarily just an IAC Valve problem.
