Default CEL Codes found. :(

Yesterday I removed my valve cover to inspect the valvetrain and perform a valve adjustment.

Everything seemed to go OK, but when I got it back together and fired it up, I got a CEL light (non-flashing.)

I parked the car, and rented a code scanner from the local parts store. Here is what I found:

P1362
P1259
P1367

The car has about 13,000mi on it. I have an AEM style CAI on it, and a cat-back exhaust. Other than that, the driveline is 100% bone stock.

The code descriptions I found seem to indicate something might be wrong with the top dead center sensor. The problem I have is I don't know where the TDC Sensor is located. It is very possibly just unplugged, but I cannot find anything that I failed to reconnect.

Suggestions? Ideas?

My screen name is ruexp67 and I am an idiot.

So I checked the connections on the two sensor on the top back area of the valve cover, and they were both secure. I decided to clear the codes and start the car and see if they came back (as I was at a loss.)

Before I could clear the codes, I started the car and noticed that the CEL had been cleared by itself. This got me thinking (dangerous, I know.)

Then it dawned on me, mis-fires could easily be explained by not having any spark plugs in the car.

I am sure I got the codes when I was performing a compression test yesterday. I drove the car for about 15mins, stopped the car, and restarted it and drove about another 5 mins and no codes have come back.

See, I told you I was an idiot.

So did you turn the key to on with the valve cover removed?

Yep, and with the spark plugs off. I did the compression test with the VC off (very messy way to do it, BTW. Oil EVERYWHERE. )

Does this have anything to do with missing wipers? At least it wasn't that obvious.
