CEL code read and came back as coilpacks/plugs
Heres the story. I just got back from Meinke to have my CEL code read. It came back that coilpacks 1 and 2 are going bad and possibly the plugs.
Well the plugs I replaced a year or two ago with bosch platinums and they maybe have 12k miles on them so I'm not really buying that they are bad but I won't rule it out completely.
Whats the possibility of the coilpacks bad with only 45k miles on my car? Is this common or is there something else like a dirty/loose connector between the coilpack and plug wire that is more likely. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Also when looking at the engine from the front which coilpacks are 1 and 2?
It runs fine but does occasionally idle ruff but that doesn't seem new.
Applicable mods (possibly):
-Aem V2 Intake
-HKS exhaust
-T1R Testpipe
Thanks for reading,
Matt

Yeah I just pulled a plug and it doesn't look to good so I'm going to go get some new ones and see what happens. I called honda and asked about the coilpacks to see if its common for them to fail. The parts guy told me hes never sold one. Ever. So hopefully its just the plugs.
Thanks for the response.

Bosch platinums are crap. Change them out for NGK platinums and clear the code. If you still have problems, it could be coils.

My plan is to replace the plugs then clear the code and see if that does the trick. If it wasn't the problem then the light will just come back on.
