I would just run by an autozone and have them pull the code for you. I do not know how to pull it with the ignition key.

thanks guys. This is what I thought about the gas tank cap.. in OR you can't self-fill gas.. yeahh WTF!?
anyways.. I opened it and tighten back nicely. But didn't have time to see if it goes away so I reset ecu.. it went away and never came back 400 miles later.
autozone - I wish.. was in the middle of nowhere )) anyways - need to buy obd2 scanner - lesson learned took necessary tools with me etc but scanner is must have too..

does anybody have any particular manufacture/model in mind? thanks

So I went for a dinner and... after.. 1) driving in bumper2bumper traffic for a while and 2) really heavy rain-lots of moisture. CEL is back.. it came up once I started engine after sitting for like 40 minutes..

Engine works like before.. no single sign of anything.. keeping it under 4k before I figure that cel sucker up..
smth tells me it has to do with heavy rain.. gotta go and try to find out how to read code by counting light flashes.. if possible at all.. if not- will buy scanner tomorrow.. here in Portland should be decent amount of auto stores

Thats not how it works anymore. You have to have a scanner to read obd2 codes.

You have to have a scanner for any OBD2 vehicle.
