CEL came on
Recently replaced my cyl head. Picked up the car yesterday. Drove fine all day and night. Drove fine to work this morning car was running strong.
On the way home from work today I was driving somewhat uphill, the engine hesitated for brief second, then the light came on. Idle occasionally dipped down really low, almost stalling at times.
I cleared the CEL, started it up, ran it at idle for about 20 min and the light didnt come back on. As soon as I took it for a drive, the CEL came back on, so it's coming on during load.
Other than the CEL and the occasional low idle, the car seems to be running fine. Any thoughts????
UPDATE: Did some investigating and discovered this.
Also found the wire/connector dangling with the broken green connector from the sensor. So, the verdict is a broken knock sensor. I should have the shop pay for this right??

I was just thinking and wouldn't the CEL come on right away if the knock sensor cracked during the install. It took almost 24hrs for the light to come on.
I'm thinking that there's just a bad connection. I will do the wiggle test first thing tomorrow. Hopefully the connector just came loose.

they might have just cracked the knock sensor when doing the job. The vibration from driving made it fall off, and giving you the code. You should take it back and get them to pay for it. Good luck

Wont be able to get the new knock sensor until Tues. Would I be alright driving it in the meantime? I took the broken half of the sensor (green part) out of the connector.
