I dont think they are the same as a coil pack. I have worked on some cars with coil packs, even today a toyota tercel. Yet again you learn something new everyday, thats the best part! I could have swore thats what I said about the OBD2 codes also? hmmm

No worries, I was reading more into it. What I did find out is that it is in theory the same as a coil pack, but the reason some of the coil winding is around the spark plug wire that goes into the block/head (to the plug) is to "support" the secondary ignition system.

I know I would like to hear what the problem was.

Well I started the car up again today and after 2 mins or so the Check Engine flashes. Ran the code again and its just on cylinder one now, not sure if cylinder two will come up if I drive it or not.

Here are my question:
Which plug is cylinder one, the one closest to the front bumper or the farthest.
Is it okay to leave the car running for sometime so I can get rid of all the gas and fill it up with a new tank and some cleaner?
OR
Should I just leave the 1/2 tank in there and fill it up and add the cleaner?

And would it be safe to drive the car very conservatively to the mechanic or even just start it up and leave it running?

Thanks again fellas!

I dont think it would hurt it much to drive it with the 1/2 of 87 octane (if it is). I would fill it up with the supreme the rest of the way though. BUT then the misfire is what could damage the emissons system (cat). Can you feel the misfire ?
Try changing the plug out and see if that works!
And yes the number one piston is closest the the front of the car.
I would check the timing too, I dont think it would be off but doesnt hurt to make sure.

If the CEL/MIL flashes run it as little as possible. I think the firing order is 1-3-4-2, with the cylinder being the closest the front bumper as s2kBryan916 already said.
If it were me I would consider draining/syphoning the tank if at all possible.

Definitely syphon the fuel out...just remember to dispose of it properly.

s2kBryan916: The car gets really rough after starting and you can absolutely feel something wrong, kind of like your car is out of gas.

How do you "syphon" the gas out? Suck it in a tube?

Before you go on, try to listen to the injectors by putting the tip of a screwdriver on the injector and your ear against the handle. You should hear a clear 'clicking' sound indicating that the injector is working.

Try that first for nr. 1 injector to see if it works. Maybe tapping it slightly with the screwdriver might get it going again (temporarily without adding that cleaner yet) IF it is stuck...

You might still have to remove that plastic protection cover (only two bolts) to get easy access to the injectors.

PS: When I had to ship my car I tried to syphon out the gas, but was unable to do it from the filler pipe!!!

Had the same codes on my 03. I had the coil packs, injectors and spark plugs changed, still same problem. Had a leakdown test done and found out i had 2 bent valves in cylinder 1.
