CD player wont work after battery change.
I had to replace the battery when my old one died. Now the CD player just flashes the word CODE.
So far i tried:
swearing at it.
Banging my fists on the dashboard,
swearing at it wile banging my fist on the dashboard.
nothing has worked

It's asking for the security code. You should have a business card size card with the code (I think it's 5 digit). If you can't find it there's a way to get the serial number by holding the buttons down for a period of time (do a search on this). Then call your Honda dealer, give them the serial # and they can get you the code.

OK i got it working.
Here is the procedure for anyone who has the same problem.
turn the ignition on and have the radio off.
turn the radio on wile holding down 1 and 6
2 codes will flash. U(4 numbers) and L(4numbers)
call your honda dealer and tell them those codes and they will give you a 5 digit security code that u type in with the radio preset buttons.

This was fun to read
Having the dealer give you codes over the phone kinda defeats the purpose of having a coded radio system ya know?
I have had to do it many times for my customers....I guess if the dealer knows you it's all good

Or you can sign up for the Honda Owners Link from the Honda website. Its free. You can get your codes from there and keep them for further use. My $.02
Which makes Billman correct. Nothing stops a thief from going on and registering your VIN, unless the site is set up to not accept duplicate active VINs...never tried that.
What am I saying? Who would want to steal the factory radio anyway? If you catch a thief trying to steal your radio, have them PM me...I'll give them mine.
