cc stage 4 clutch feel

so I just finished swapping from ap1 to ap2 tranny and installing a competition stage 4 clutch (clutch, pp, pilot bearing, TO).
ever since the swap I have to be extremely careful engaging first gear or my car will lurch forward like my whole driveline is going to get snapped. I am comming from a clutch oem clutch that was extremely worn, my 00 car has 163k, but this is almost totally undrivable (i have even stalled out a number of times).
with the help of many guys on the board i was able to do what i feel is a real good install on the clutch package. I made sure and resurfaced my ap1 flywheel as well. the only contributing factors to this terrible drivability must either be simply that this new stage 4 clutch is so different from a spent oem clutch or the fact that I have a very leaky mater cyl and that is causing me a great loss of control in engagement. Any comments appreciated.

The CC stage 4 clutch has a very narrow window of engagement. I have one in my AP1 and it was difficult to learn how to start the car smoothly, it just takes a little higher revs when starting to be a little smoother. My driveline was bucking when I would try to start out at lower revs. I would get your master cylinder fixed and see if the problem is better.

I'm running a 6-puck sprung clutch (stage 4) with light flywheel. What you're experiencing is normal. The clutch you installed is like an on and off button when engaging. You'll get squeals and groans when trying to ease into the clutch like OEM. You'll eventually get use to it. Try going to an empty parking lot, and ease out your clutch to find where the engagement is. Then you'll only need to apply little gas and quickly let the clutch go. Try changing out your clutch fluid, it may change the feel. I also notice wearing thinner sole shoes, like race shoes or Puma's can help the feel of the clutch. Good luck.
FYI, don't try to launch with it or kiss your diff good bye.

I have been running cc stg4 ironman in my o6 for about 20000 miles now. It does take some getting used to. I commute in my car about 100 miles a day and the first few trips were hell. After some seat time though I have really learned to enjoy the superquick engagement and the fact that my wife can't even get it out of the driveway. I will say that it is one tough clutch as I have made many trips to the strip and you can slip the hell out of it, and it still holds strong. If stock like engagement and normal clutch feel are what you were after you chose the wrong clutch my friend. This clutch was ment for the track guy or our 500hp fi friends. Good luck learning to drive a stick again.

Less power loss at the tranny and no lag between shifting gears is sweet.

Yes, it is definitely like learning to drive stick again. That is exactly what I was thinking.
It's been two days since the install and some hellish commute time but I do feel like I am getting the hang of this clutch.
All this input has been very helpful
