Catalytic shield buzzing

I won't take a guess at it being one or the other mentioned problems above but many Honda models have issues with rattling heatshields (Civic, Integra, Accord, S2000, maybe others?)
Definitely remove it and see if that fixes the problem. If not then back to the drawing board. If you hit something going down the road it can bend the flexible shields causing them to rub/vibrate.

Hmmm...im 90% positive that mine occurs even during acceleration.

If it happens only on deceleration, then you most likely have the infamous clutch decel buzz.
If it happens on acceleration and deceleration, then it could be your heatshields.
I had this problem, thought it was the heat shield or the cat itself, turned out to be the resonator on my Amuse exhaust.

Yeah, I think it is the clutch buzz. On deacceleration only is when I hear the noise.
On the heat shield above the cat, there is a long stretch without any anchoring to the frame. So, I wadded up a big ball of aluminum foil and wedged it in tight between the shield and the floor as a test to dampen any vibrations in that area.
Took it out for a test drive, no change.
Oh well... very disappointing that such a great little car has this noise problem... makes it sound so cheap. Did Honda actually think nobody would notice? argh!
In about 30K miles I'll probably need a new clutch anyway, so hopefully will be able to get newer "non-buzzing" clutch components then. Gives me a reason to drive it more!

I took the Invidia off last night and only drove it for a few minutes, but believe that I heard it still. So, there goes the resonator theory. Once I get my car back from Honda, I am going to purchase a test pipe and take the cat heatshield off. We'll see if that works.
