I'd have to check the Valvoline, but the rest of those are similar in price to Edge. Thanks!

I just did an oil change with new castrol Edge fully synthetic 5w30. Before i was using regular Castrol fully synthetic. The difference i feel the most is driving my car from a cold start. It seems to shift smoother and rev better. I am happy with the purchase =)

Only bad thing is the 8.50 price tag, but money is not an option when it comes to my S.
i hear good things about castrol edge...

but you just cant get me to switch from amsoil...especially since you can get it for 6.70 a quart. with shipping it comes out to about the same i suppose though if you buy 6 qts.

i was going to try the edge in my gf's car but couldn't find it. went with mobil 1 extended performance instead. no more reg. mobil 1....the ap1s just drink that stuff!

My oil analysis for Castrol Edge was great. I put just over 5k miles on it and there were no issues. Viscosity was slightly low, but they still said I could run it out to 7k without an issue.

I'll shoot for around 6k next change. Much more than that, I feel like I should change the filter mid-interval. I don't want to do that...if I'm going to make an oily mess, I'd rather just change everything.

whats the detriment to using a "high mileage" oil in a relatively low mileage car? i loved max-life in my prelude. it was hands down the best oil ever. im thinking about switching to that even though my04 has only 31K on it.

When you get time, could you post the results of your UOA for us? Thanks.

7k seems premature on this oil, any comment?

Probably is. I'm sure 5k is way early, but how long can I really run a single stock oil filter for?
