Its not a question of are hood pins necessary. the question is how good is your hood. My buddy had a crappy hood on a Type R and the thing flew right off his car on the 407. When i do get a hood i will be using pins.

It was a local shop by my house that had everything at either wholesale or less. Lets just say it was less then half the price of all the other hoods out there. I really wanted a vented hood, but i figure a straight carbon fiber is good for now, and when i sell it later on, I will make a couple bucks off of it.
