All right I think I finally figured out the problem. I believe the new starter I installed is defective. Last night I tried tapping on the starter motor and the car started right up. I also realized before when I was tapping on the starter I was accidentally tapping on the relay and not the motor

OKAY I FOUND THE PROBLEM! It was a loose power wire on my aftermarket distribution block. It would sometimes make contact and send power to the starter and at other times not make contact. So frustrating...there was actually nothing wrong with my original starter. So there it is.

Why do you have your starter wired to a separate distribution block? This isnt a aftermarket accessory.

Its not. I have my battery relocated to the trunk and the main power wire running to the front passenger side fender area. The main power line goes to a distribution block where it splits into the underhood fuse box, eps unit, and aftermarket fan.
