Thumbs up Car struggle to start

Ok so recently my car started having trouble starting. I would press the start button, then the car shakes quite hard for about 2 seconds, then starts up. Once it starts up, everything is good.

It started when the weather started getting very warm. The temperature change has been quite sudden here these days. When the sun's out, it's very warm, but past week it's been raining and sometimes it can be chilly. I'm just wondering is my car doing this because ECU needs to adjust the temperature change?

Need some knowledgeable folks to chime in.

Thank you

Your car battery might be going bad. Get it tested, usually free at part store.

I just replaced my battery a few months ago.

Any other comments?

Your starter might be going bad. Or your new battery might be defective. Or it might be something else.

But yeah, the ECU can get "surprised" by changes in the weather or your driving patterns, and could just be that.

We need a video. But possibly starter going bad. Any performance or drivability issues?

my ECU does that too during weather changes. mine even dies on the first start but it's fine on the second start. sometimes it even stalls at idle. this was about a year ago when the weather was getting warm but my car is perfectly fine now. I guess the weather change here is just more dramatic. the S2000 is pretty sensitive to the weather.

No performance or drivability issues. I don't have a video camera but basically imagine yourself sitting in the cockpit. Insert the key, turn the key, push the start button. As soon as you push it, the car tries to crank for 2 seconds and while it's doing so, the car shakes and the light inside kinda blinks, then after 2 seconds it starts. Once starting, absolutely no problem.

Update, it's not as bad as before now. There seems to be just a tiny bit of delay when starting, but it's not like before shaking anymore.

It's probably just the ECU. The weather has changed, maybe your gas formulation has changed, and the fuel/air mix was a little bit off for the new conditions.

You never know, though. Maybe the fuel injectors are a bit clogged. Maybe the fuel pressure is a bit too low. Could be lots of things.
