The car stalls a bit and dies out...
Hey guys. Hopefully someone can chime in with some good info.
So i'm minding my own business driving my car and like most people get to a stop light or stop sign, slow down and stop. Those 5 seconds have recently have been scary for me. The car at idle is at 1k rpm. But as soon as I sit there for too long at time the car goes maybe 700 rpm and eventually goes to 0 rpms and my lights all come up and I have to start the car up again.
I only noticed this after I pulled off my soft top. Could it be because the motors aren't pluged anymore that it's taking too much voltage?
These are my current electronics that i'm running; a yellow top optima battery, aem ems(tuned) for a vtsc. Valentine V1, an aftermarket alpine deck, and a alpine navi unit. This usually happens when I have everything mentioned above turned on. Now when I turn off my aftermarket deck the stalling almost never happens.
Could it be the tune?? I was thinking about going back to my tuner and have him set the idle a little higher.
Please help, I hope someone can give me some good advice.

Try to make it worse by putting on the AC too, see if that has any impact on the condition.
I'd swap the battery out with someone with OEM. Remove as many varibles as possible.
These are tough to find, could be the alternator regulator. Put a voltmeter across it and test as you add load

Mine does it fairly often. I figure with the lightweight flywheel and extra stress required to spin the supercharger that it's normal when I let off the gas and disengage the clutch. I've just got used to it.

Are you SC? - * edit - just noticed the vortech...
I'm thinking it's the EMS, but I would eliminate all the other variables since it's cheap and quick. (cheaper then getting a re-tune or running higher idle)

Perhaps its your Optima Yellow Top Battery. Lots of S2K owners complain about the yellow top for the S2000:

That combined with all the gadgets on your car might put too much stress on your car causing it to poop out on you.

The EMS is tuned for a Vortech.
You do have a Vortech installed, right?
Otherwise, that's the problem. The car is expecting more air (SC) and not getting it if you're NA. That'll F'k with the AF ratios and stall out your car.

My car started doing this last week all week long. Friday rolled around and my battery was toast. I jumped it and drove to get a new battery, idled and died at all stops. put new battery in. All is right in oz again.
