Car stalled out in vtec *Check Engine Light On*
The car was at 7500 rpms for 7-8 seconds going 50mph in 2nd gear around a corner. The car stalled out and the Check Engine light came on instantaneously. I pulled over and turned the car back on with no issues whatsoever. The car still has the light on.
I stopped at the dealership and they wanted to charge $115 for a diagnostic, which I refused. I am going to let the car cool down and then check the oil. If the light doesn't turn off I will have to purchase one of the diagnostic tools to get the code and check this forum.
Any ideas from just what I said? I checked vtec also after it occurred and it was fine.

Autozone did it for free! Thanks guys... so now to the problems.
Vtec only works in 1st gear and not any other gear. I am not sure if the fact that it works in one gear means anything or not.
The code is: P1259
Once the car cools down I will check the wiring. I don't know how to check the solenoid or a blocked oil passage though. Any ideas?
Thanks.

- Open or short circuit condition
- Vtec solenoid valve fault
- Vtec pressure switch fault
- Blocked oil passage

check the filter for the solenoid, its on the left side of the engine if you are looking at it. They shouldn't clog up though. I checked mine at 100k and it was spotless. Cleaned anyways.. If this is a case of vtec failing then that'll be a first!!
