Car shaking at idol..need help
So I crashed my 04 s2000 about a month and a half ago. It was towed to a shop in West Chester PA. The claims adjuster looked at the car and wrote the shop a check to fix the car. I looked online and the shop had gotten good reviews so I decided to allow them to do the work. I went to get things out of the car before work had began and noticed that the shifter, while resting in neutral, was not resting in the center like usual. I called the adjuster and asked if he had seen that and he said no. My next call was to the shop in which I asked them if they had addressed the fact that the shifter was moved over. The mechanic said they had the car on the lift and had replaced the broken parts and everything had fallen back into place so I let it go. Went to pick the car up this friday and not only was the shifter still moved to the left but the car would shake violently when idol dropped to about 900 rpms. My dad also owns an 04 s2000 which he daily drives. When he drove my car home he immediately noticed the shaking at idol and he would shift from 2nd to 5th because of the shifter. These things have not been fixed or addressed. We turned around and took it back to the shop where the mechanic proceeded to tell us that from what they saw nothing was wrong. This is very frustrating because I have owned this car from 24000 miles (now 45000) and the car was in perfect mechanical condition before this accident and now it most certainly is not. I have called and left a message for my claims adjuster in hopes that we can find a way to sort this issue out. I wanted to make this post in hopes that one of you may have had a similar experience or have any idea why my shifter would be moved over or why the car would shake at idol. Something is very wrong, I need help.

the shifter is a quick fix, if you can go in a circle with the shifter, most likely the pivot cover is broken. It's at the bottom of the shifter. As for the shaking at idling, sounds like something is seriously wrong.

found the issue...the engines right motor mount is completely broken. I can't believe they let this car off their lot without addressing this issue, I also can't believe the insurance adjuster did not catch this when it took me and another s2000 owner about 5 minutes to figure this out.

Your job is to insure you get fully covered and everything back to pre accident.
Adjusters almost never see under the car. Just document visuals and go from there. You were in no danger and out mounts are easily missed. Unlike other cars were you can see them from the engine bay.

This is the broken motor mount visible from the front of the car with the hood open...they had the car for almost two months and didn't find this? I called them and the insurance company numerous times asking if they addressed the shifter issue. when this mount can explain the shifter and the shaking.
