Hey guys!

I'm trying to narrow down the cause of my problem. So my s2k shakes when I accelerate fast enough and goes away when it's not accelerating as fast. It is lowered and I've seen other threads about how lowering it can cause it to shake.

Any suggestions or tests I can do to rule things out? All help appreciated.

Also, my left rear diff mount blew out and all the liquid leaked out of it. Could that be the cause or is it something more serious?

Yes that could be the cause. Usually when it vibrates when on the gas it is from pitted axle buckets. I'd imagine the blown mount could do a similar thing. But if you have been lowered for a while I'd imagine axle boots are pitted as well.

So how difficult would that be with someone that has no experience fixing cars?

You could get axle spacers or there are about 13 posts on here about swapping the axle buckets. I know this will out rage many people on here but I just forked out the 95 bucks and got axle spacers, no grease no mess just 12 bolts.

Leaking dif mount has no effect on your problem.

You have a pitted bucket guaranteed.

I don't understand why it only vibrates/shakes when I'm accelerating hard enough. I can make it up to 100+ mph if I accelerate like a slow person but sometimes I like to go pedal to the medal.If the buckets were pitted, wouldn't it always vibrate/shake no matter how fast you accelerate?

because the harmonic imbalance that causes the vibration will only occur under certain specific conditions of a load and speed.

In time, it will, don't worry

As time goes on, you will feel it under light acceleration in first gear.

Do not wait too long, because if the pit gets too big you will have vibration on decel after the swap.

Swap buckets or get the axle spacers. Swapping buckets is free but takes more time. Axle spacers are a very easy install and cost under $100. I should have those in stock of you decide to do it that way.
